Today was almost one of the coldest days in Helsinki this year. About 0’F. This is dut to a a clearing wind from the Baltic sea which also made it one of the most sunny clear days i have seen yet this trip. It was so sunny today that I almost needed sun glasses. Almost. It was also the day that we had planned to go to Suomilina (finnish island) with Eeva’s little tribe of High School girls. This island sits off of Helsinki and was built up as an army barack by the Russians when they occupied finland. Now it is kindof like Catalina off the coast of La. People live there. There are churches on it. There is even a mysteriouse surf spot. So I hear. To me this is the most awesome Historical, Scenic, and exciting place in finland. I am so happy Eeva was up for going there today, even though it was so COLD!
